Watching GFU

Culture and its evolution can be witnessed in every aspect of society, especially fashion. Watching New York capitalizes on this element of contemporary life. As a result, it has become a widespread social media presence for capturing great style moments in the streets of New York. We have taken to the Quad to reveal George Fox University’s (GFU) best-dressed, document college fashion in 2022, and discover its inspirations.

Ayanha Bahati (first-year) shows off her impeccable taste with the mixture of traditionally contradictory pieces. She derives inspiration from black fashion, including streetwear, but relies on her individuality rather than conforming to any particular aesthetic.

Aisha Okes (sophomore) makes a fun and casual outfit with elements of pop culture and small pops of color.  Her inspiration comes from 1970s fashion and the wardrobe of Jennifer Aniston in her role on the popular 90s sitcom Friends.

Sarah Vernyika (sophomore) mixes texture and neutrals to create her everyday look. She expressed her love of combining and matching different colors and said she finds outfit inspiration from Pinterest.
