Coffee Competition

         The perfect drink is essential to a productive study session or a fun day in Newberg, but there may be some upcoming competition between the main coffee shops in town. As of now, Chapters and Bubble Bear have been student favorites, but with the addition of Lyrics Café and Le Okay Juice, will students find a new place to get their favorite drinks?

         Chapters is a fan favorite for an early morning study session or the place to find a good book. With cozy, dark academia vibes and the guarantee of good coffee, it’s no surprise that Chapters is known around campus. With a vibrant menu and multiple flavors of tea and coffee, Chapters has something for anyone who walks through the door, including the little ones.

         Bubble Bear is the perfect place for an afternoon pick me up. With exotic waffles and bubble tea, it is bound to brighten up any day. Housing both sweet and savory options, Bubble Bear has the creativity to satisfy any waffle craving and add some spice to this classic breakfast food.  

         However, there are two new shops coming to the streets of Newberg in the upcoming year. Lyrics Café is scheduled to open in the fall of 2023 and is in a prime spot for students. Lyrics Café is currently being renovated and is ready to hire employees. 

Le Okay Juice Bar is set to open up next to Teeter Totter in downtown Newberg and could add some spice to the drink game. With specialty juices, smoothies, coffee, and treats, Le Okay has something for every time of day.

         With new options coming to Newberg, the choice is up to students on where they will decide to go. Some students say that their loyalty to Chapters and Bubble Bear will hold, while others are excited and ready to try something new. No matter what students decide to choose, each shop will have their fair share of business and students willing to ride or die for their favorite drinks and window seats.
